Remembering Pete Chapouris

Remembering Pete Chapouris

I first met Pete in 2014 during Hot August Nights in Reno. My friend and Shift and Steer partner Brad Fanshaw introduced us as he was building the cast for the show. We instantly bonded! I knew who he was, but oddly enough our paths hadn’t crossed yet. From that day on, it was nothing but a great adventure with Pete, Brad and Matt. Though I only had the privilege of knowing him a short time, he was quick to share his knowledge and expertise as he did with so many. To the point, but kind, he was a wealth of knowledge, history and a great storyteller. A man of amazing experience, he wrote the book on our hobby and industry. Through our extraordinary travels together, Pete has introduced me to an amazing family and world that I had only seen a glimpse of. I am deeply grateful and will honor his memory for the rest of my life. Pete has had a profound effect on myself and everyone he has touched over the years. He will live on as a true friend to our automotive world, and his rare demeanor will continue to pave the way on being a gentleman in a forever challenging world. Pete will forever be missed and revered. Salute to the HOF (Hall Of Fame, as Pete had more HOF’s than anyone we have ever known!) I wish we had more time together. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. His loss has had and will continue to have a huge impact on all our lives. Goodbye Pete.

    Goodbye my friend.
